Rental Agreement
Last updated: June 2026
This is a preview of the terms that will apply to every bike you rent through RideLanna once we launch. Each booking will be confirmed against this agreement, signed digitally at handover. Bookings are not yet live.
Who can rent
You must be at least 18 and hold a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) with a motorcycle endorsement, plus your home licence. Thai law requires it, and your travel insurance is void without it. We check it at delivery.
Your passport stays with you
We never hold your passport as collateral. We sign a standard rental agreement, take a copy of your passport for records, and place a refundable security hold on your card (typically 5,000 THB), released on return. Your physical passport stays in your pocket.
Insurance & excess
Every rental includes accident, theft, and damage insurance. The excess (the most you'd pay in an at-fault incident) is shown clearly on each bike before you book, there are no hidden charges at pickup. Riding without a valid licence or helmet, under the influence, or off-road on a road bike voids cover.
Condition & damage
The bike is documented with photos at handover so its condition is agreed up front. Normal wear is expected. You're responsible for damage caused during your rental, up to the stated excess; the rest is covered by insurance.
Helmets, fuel & equipment
Two helmets are included. The bike is delivered with a set fuel level and should be returned at the same level, or a refuelling fee applies. A top-case is available free on request.
Delivery & return
Free delivery and collection anywhere within Chiang Mai town, your hotel, guesthouse, or the airport. A 10-minute handover covers controls, fuel, helmet fit, and paperwork. Return is from the same spot at the end of your rental.
Cancellation & refunds
- More than 48 hours before pickup, full refund.
- Within 48 hours, we keep the 30% deposit.
- On the day of pickup, charged in full, because the bike was held off the fleet for you.
- Weather events (typhoons, flooding), always refunded in full.
On the road
You agree to obey Thai traffic law, wear a helmet at all times, never ride under the influence, and not carry more passengers than the bike is rated for. Fines, tolls, and traffic violations during your rental are your responsibility.
Breakdown & support
Flat tyre, wrong turn, a scratch, or an accident, message us first, in English, on WhatsApp, around the clock. We coordinate with the partner shop, the insurer, and a hospital if needed.
Liability
Bikes are provided by independent partner shops. RideLanna and the shop are not liable for loss or injury arising from your own breach of this agreement or of traffic law. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Thai law.
